BIOGRAPHY
John E. Brush, Jr., M.D., FACC graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1976 and from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1980. He trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Vermont School of Medicine and in Cardiology at Yale University School of Medicine. From 1985 to 1988, he was a Senior Investigator and staff cardiologist with the Cardiology Branch of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. From 1988 to 1992, he was on the faculty of Boston University School of Medicine. Since 1992, he has practiced cardiology in Norfolk, Virginia.
He is a Professor of Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School and a cardiologist with Sentara Cardiology Specialists. He has served on a number of boards and committees of state and national organizations and including the Board of Trustees of the American College of Cardiology and the Cardiovascular Board of the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Brush lives in Virginia Beach, VA with his wife, Gay Goldsmith, and two children, Evan and Anna.
